About Ashe
A contemporary gallery celebrating New Zealand art, artists and thoughtful living.
Ashe is a contemporary art gallery and design store in Ōtautahi Christchurch, dedicated to celebrating New Zealand art, artists and thoughtful living. We curate original artworks, sculpture, ceramics and design objects that inspire connection, encourage collecting, and bring creativity into everyday life. Whether you're discovering your first piece or adding to an established collection, Ashe is a welcoming space to explore contemporary art with confidence.
Our Story
Why Ashe Exists
Ashe was founded from a belief that art should feel approachable, personal and part of everyday life. We wanted to create a gallery that felt warm and welcoming—a place where conversations come easily, creativity is celebrated, and people feel inspired to discover work that resonates with them.
We proudly represent a considered collection of emerging and established New Zealand artists whose practices reflect originality, craftsmanship and a strong sense of place. Alongside our exhibitions, we curate a selection of beautiful design objects for the home, host creative workshops and events, and offer thoughtful guidance for those beginning or growing their art collections.
More than a gallery, Ashe is a space that brings together art, artists and community. We believe meaningful connections are formed not only through the work on the walls, but through the stories behind it, the people who create it, and the conversations it inspires.
Art belongs in everyday life.
Beautiful art shouldn't feel intimidating.

Meet Ashleigh
Kia ora, I'm Ashleigh, founder and curator of Ashe.
With a background in Art History, Fine Arts, and Interior Design, I've spent more than a decade working alongside artists, designers, and collectors throughout New Zealand. Those experiences have shaped the way I approach curating; valuing authenticity, thoughtful craftsmanship and the relationships that exist between artists, their work and the people who live with it.
Ashe brings together the things I'm most passionate about: supporting New Zealand artists, creating welcoming gallery experiences, and helping people discover art they genuinely connect with. Whether you're visiting the gallery, attending an exhibition or workshop, or searching for the perfect artwork for your home, my hope is that Ashe feels inspiring, approachable and a place you'll want to return to.
