Blackmore Foster Exhibition
Blackmore Foster brings together painters Jane Blackmore and Nic Foster in a shared exploration of the Aotearoa landscape, expressed through two distinct yet complementary perspectives.
Both artists use painting to evoke feeling, memory, and atmosphere through colour, light, and gesture, transporting the viewer beyond the immediate scene. Blackmore’s expansive vistas open outward into vast, luminous horizons, where scale and light create a sense of distance and quiet grandeur. In contrast, Foster’s works draw the viewer inward, offering intimate, immersive encounters with the land.
Together, their practices form a dialogue between horizon and presence—inviting viewers to experience landscape as both something we look across, and something we are held within.
