Remembering the Music
Original Sculpture by Ele Stevenson
Mixed media: recycled rimu, oil pastels, photo transfer, encaustic wax
Dimensions: 140×85×65mm
Ele Stevenson - West Melton, Ōtautahi
This work holds the echo of a place and a sound - the familiar weight of wood, the worn keys of a piano long played. The image, taken by the artist at the Christchurch Arts Centre, is transferred and sealed in wax like a keepsake.
It speaks of resilience and beauty - of what endures after the music fades.
