Mixed Media Sculpture by Ele Stevenson

1100×1120mm

Ele Stevenson - West Melton, Ōtautahi Christchurch

Ele Stevenson is a passionate mixed media artist whose work is driven by a love of colour and form.  Growing up in Central Otago and Dunedin, she developed an early appreciation for the natural beauty and vibrant landscapes of New Zealand.  In 2019, she relocated to West Melton, a charming township near Christchurch in the Canterbury region, where she continues to explore her artistic expression.

As a former member of the Otago Arts Society and current member of Art Canterbury, Ele appreciates the sense of community and support that these organisations foster amongst local artists.  Her creative practice revolves around the creation of one-of-a-kind, original pieces, often incorporating recycled materials to give new life to discarded items.  Her work is characterised by layered compositions, where she enjoys revealing the beauty beneath through intricate layers of colour and mark making.

Ele draws inspiration from her surrounds and her commitment to sustainable art practices where possible.  Her work invites viewers to explore textures, depths, and stories woven through her compelling mixed media pieces.
