Bridget Ellery

Mixed Media Painter, Printmaker & Illustrator
Ōtautahi Christchurch

Bridget Ellery is a contemporary artist whose work draws deeply from her European heritage and background in design. After graduating from design school, Bridget travelled to Europe, where she began her career as an assistant to a perfume designer. This experience, alongside years working abroad as a designer, allowed her to develop her illustration practice and explore a distinctly feminine visual language within the corporate design world.

Much of Bridget’s work is inspired by memories of her European grandmothers’ kitchens - spaces rich with history, beauty, and sensory experience. Through soft hues, expressive forms, and layered textures, she connects an old world to a new, creating artworks that evoke a sense of nostalgia, place, and quiet joy.

Her practice focuses on mixed media limited edition Giclée prints, inspired by the feminine form and the muted palettes of Europe. Printed on high-quality German etching paper with archival inks, her works are available as open edition unframed prints, with larger framed Artist Proofs.
