At Ease
Wellington-based multidisciplinary artist Sarah Albisser explores the expressive potential of line, contrast, and negative space. Working across ink and painting, her compositions often emerge through carefully balanced gestures where form is suggested as much by absence as by mark.
Within Between Light & Line, Albisser’s work reflects the idea of illumination through restraint - where light appears through the tension between dark and light, line and void. Her pieces invite close viewing, revealing how minimal forms can hold surprising depth and quiet presence.
Original Painting on board
Dimensions: 450×650mm
This work is part of the exhibition Between Light & Line Quiet Luminance and the Space Between Form, presented at Ashe Art Gallery, Christchurch, March–April 2026.
